Unfortunately, high winds and turbulent waves led to its demise during transportation back to Port Canaveral after completing its 19th and final launch. This booster leaves behind an extraordinary legacy, from facilitating the highest number of discrete payloads launched by a single U.S. orbital class rocket to enabling the return of U.S. astronauts to space using an American-made spacecraft for the first time since the conclusion of the Space Shuttle Program in 2011.

Unparalleled Achievements of the Falcon 9

Despite the loss of the B1058 booster, the Falcon 9 rocket family continues to amass an impressive track record. Since its inception in June 2010, the Falcon 9 rocket family, including various versions and the Falcon Heavy, has completed 292 launches, with an outstanding success rate of 290 missions. The active Block 5 version alone has successfully flown 234 missions, achieving a flawless success rate. Furthermore, it has demonstrated its extraordinary reusability by landing successfully 256 times out of 269 attempts. In 2022, the Falcon 9 set a new record with 60 successful launches, surpassing its previous achievement of 31 launches in the first 29 weeks of the year.
