NorthStar and Saudi Space Agency Collaborate to Enhance Space Situational Awareness


The Saudi Space Agency has entered into a cooperative agreement with NorthStar to enhance their mutual efforts in space situational awareness technologies. The memorandum of cooperation was signed by the agency’s CEO, Dr Mohammed bin Saud Al-Tamimi, and NorthStar’s CEO, Stewart Bain, during the Space Debris Conference in Riyadh.

The objective of this deal is to strengthen their partnership in assessing and discovering future opportunities while also sharing knowledge and expertise in the field of space situational awareness. Both parties will work together to propel the growth of the Kingdom’s space industry, improve research and development capabilities, and investigate the potential to create a specialized center specifically for space situational awareness.

This collaboration will also concentrate on managing space traffic and will particularly focus on research and exploration related to space sustainability. It will delve into the space environment and various sensing technologies, including optical, radar, and radio frequency devices. The partners will also explore advanced data analytics capabilities.

The Saudi Space Agency is committed to strengthening its partnerships with key players in the space sector, both regionally and globally.
